Perspekt exists for readers who want to understand more than headlines can tell.
Perspekt is an independent Norwegian news and analysis platform for readers looking beyond ready-made conclusions, political slogans and editorial reflexes.
We write for people who want to see issues from more than one side, ask questions where others nod along, and examine what often disappears behind established narratives.
- We are not here to confirm a fixed worldview.
- We are here to challenge habitual thinking, the language of power and media narratives that have stood too long without serious counterquestions.
- Perspekt is meant to be a corrective, not an echo chamber.
«If you take the life-lie from an average person, you take away their happiness at the same time.
Henrik Ibsen
A corrective for a healthier democracy.
Perspekt aims to strengthen public debate in Norway through journalism that challenges power, conformity and political convenience.
We believe a living democracy needs more than agreement. It needs friction, documentation, uncomfortable questions and room for voices that do not automatically fit the prevailing consensus.
Perspekt should not be a microphone stand for power. We aim to be a platform for information, analysis and debate, grounded in the public interest, Norway’s public sphere and editorial independence.
Independence
We stand apart from political parties, state press support and special interests. Our loyalty is to readers and to the truth.
Transparency
We show sources, methods and editorial reasoning. Readers should be able to see how we think and why.
Counterarguments
Disagreement is a driving force in democracy. We bring forward questions and perspectives that are otherwise overlooked.
